Nice restaurant. Excellent Green Curry. Perfect spice level and difficult to stop eating. If you like Curry, you must come here. I don't like Pomfret but my wife usually orders. The Basil Pomfret here is cooked perfectly and the sauce is excellent - best I've had yet and have tried many. I will be back next time I'm in town.

Located in Midtown on J Street, we have passed by many times without stopping in. This time we did and are glad for having done so. The interior is simple and clean, with a large patio out front that (it appears) they open the entire front of the building to expose the interior to the exterior patio in the warmer months. Our server was super kind and efficient throughout our meal. We started with the fried potstickers (you can have them steamed or fried) then ordered the papaya salad - this was fresh and not so spicy, which was a nice change from the larb salads we would normally order. Next was drunken noodles with chicken, and the Panang curry with pork (always my benchmark for restaurants). Both of these dishes came out fresh and hot with lots of flavor and the proteins were fresh and tender. A very good meal indeed. I want to come back when they have the front patio open.

Sawasdee Thai Cuisine in Midtown is a solid contender that delivers on authenticity and atmosphere. Here is my take on the experience: The Review Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Highlights: Beef Panang Curry: The standout here is the curry base itself. It’s a beautifully executed, thicker-than-average sauce with a heavy lean into coconut cream and a distinct nutty undertone from the peanut. It’s luscious, cling-to-your-spoon rich, and exactly what you want when you're looking for comfort in a bowl. Heat Level: I would callit 5/10 (Medium). They did not ask for a preference in heat. For those who enjoy a manageable kick that doesn’t mask the lemongrass and galangal notes, this is the "Goldilocks" zone. It provides a steady warmth without being overbearing. Found this place for dinner after leaving a brewery nearby. The food is excellent. There was space and service was quick. The curries were incredible. The green curry and eggplant dish didn’t have too much coconut in the curry. The eggplant and tofu was amazing. We got medium which was perfectly flavorful (credentials: South Asian). We got the chicken Pad Thai and neither the chicken nor the noodles were dry and it came with fried tofu that was amazing. It was clean, spacious, and worth it.

If I lived in Sacramento, this would be my go-to Thai spot—I’d be here every week! We ordered the Laotian papaya salad spicy, and it was perfect—bold spice, bright tang, and incredibly flavorful. The drunken noodles had the ideal smoky wok flavor with just the right level of heat. The pad Thai was just as impressive, with a great balance of sweetness, acidity, and savory depth. Their chili oil was a standout—rich, fragrant, and added so much depth to every dish. If you’re looking for amazing Thai food in Sacramento, this is the place to go!
